During the type rating instructor/synthetic flight instructor training, pilots will acquire the appropriate competencies in theoretical and practical type training in accordance with Part-FCL in order to be able to instruct on Airbus A320 aircraft. The course is designed to train pilots to obtain a TRI (restricted to FFS only) or SFI rating.
The courses are conducted on an Airbus A320 FFS simulator.
What does the training provide?
- 25 theoretical training (learning and teaching module)
- 10 hours of technical training
- 12 hours of practical training
Application criteria:
for TRI training:
- hold or have held a CPL, MPL or ATPL licence for the aircraft type concerned
- have completed 1500 hours as a pilot on multi-pilot aeroplanes
- have completed 30 route sectors in the 12 months preceding the date of application, including take-offs and landings, in the PIC or co-pilot position on the applicable aircraft type, of which 15 hours may be completed on the same type of FFS simulator
- a Class I or Class II medical certificate appropriate to the licence
for SFI training:
- hold or have held a CPL, MPL or ATPL licence for the aircraft type concerned
- have passed a skill test or proficiency check on that type within the previous 12 months
