The aim of the course is to provide the candidate with the necessary training experience, both theoretical and practical, to enable him/her to give instrument instruction on single-engine or multi-engine piston aircraft. Our organisation offers the possibility to gain experience in both conventional and "glass-cockpit" conditions, thus contributing to the effectiveness of the training.
What does the training provide?
- 25 theoretical training (learning and teaching module)
- 14 hours of technical training
- 10 hours of practical training (8 hours on simulator and 2 hours on aircraft)
Application criteria:
- After the issue of a BIR or IR rating, at least 200 hours of IFR flight time, of which at least 50 hours shall be in an aeroplane;
- for instruction in aeroplanes, at least 800 hours of flight time under IFR, of which at least 400 hours shall be in aeroplanes;
- If an IRI(A) is to be applied for multi-engine aeroplanes, comply with the requirements of FCL.915.CRI(a), FCL.930.CRI and FCL.935;
or
- a valid FI(A) certificate, IR rating.

Training is conducted on Cessna 172, Tecnam P2006T aircraft, Redbird and Entrol simulators.
Training does not include the fees and associated hours for the official competency assessment and the examiner.
